My Nutrition Philosophy

As someone who has battled with weight my whole adult life I have learned so much about weight and nutrition, along with the many courses I've done and books I've read to find the answers. At 16 my then boyfriend made a silly off the cuff comment which was "my ex-girlfriend was skinnier than you". In my low self-esteem 16 year old mind this translated to I need to lose weight. What started as a quick diet to lose a few pounds ended as 10 years of anorexia. This resulted in a ruined metabolism which after having children then translated to insulin resistance. It's extremely difficult to find good information and help if you have insulin resistance but I believe I have finally cracked it. Having tested practically every diet on the planet my philosophy and conclusion is now a combination of clean eating and intermittent fasting.  Every body is different and for some people meat and keto works best whereas for others a vegetarian diet works best. I understand Veganism from a beliefs perspective, however from a health perspective it is not a diet that I encourage as I see too many people with severe health issues due to a lack of many vital nutrients.

Dr Peter D'Adamo wrote a great book called Eat Right For Your Type which completely resonates with me.

We all need to find a way of eating that suits our particular bodies, the most important thing to me is that it is clean which means no processed foods and no chemicals, If you would like some help to find what suits you or if you struggle with losing weight no matter how hard you try please get in touch and I will coach you to being the best version of you!
